Pizza Sauce
By: Ashley Johnson

This homemade Pizza Sauce is a vibrant and flavorful base for your favorite pizza creations, crafted with simple, wholesome ingredients. Starting with sweet, ripe whole peeled tomatoes, this sauce gets its depth of flavor from sautéed onions, garlic, and aromatic basil. A pinch of oregano and the subtle heat of Calabrian chilies elevate the taste, striking a balance between rustic and bold.

The addition of a touch of sugar enhances the natural sweetness of the tomatoes, while salt ties all the flavors together. Blended to your preferred consistency—smooth or chunky—this sauce is as versatile as it is delicious. Whether you're spreading it over a freshly made dough or dipping crispy breadsticks, this pizza sauce brings a homemade touch to any meal. It’s an easy, healthy way to skip store-bought sauces and savor the fresh flavors of the Mediterranean.
